Peacock has enlisted Chris Messina (Sharp Objects) to star opposite Kaley Cuoco in Based On a True Story, a dark comedic thriller from Emmy-nominated The Boys executive producer Craig Rosenberg, Jason Bateman (Ozark) and his Aggregate Films company, as well as UCP.

Ava (Cuoco) is a realtor who is married to washed-up tennis star Nathan (Messina).
Aggregate Films co-produces the series, with Rosenberg serving as showrunner. Bateman and Michael Costigan are executive producers for the company. Roxie Rodriguez acts as co-executive producer for Aggregate Films. Universal Studio Group’s UCP division produces the series.
Ben Affleck has just finished directing and starring in Amazon Studios’s upcoming film about Michael Jordan’s unsuccessful attempt to secure the face of Nike in the 1980s. He is depicted as David Falk, Jordan’s original agent, in this film, which also includes Matt Damon, Jason Bateman, Chris Tucker, and Viola Davis. He recently starred in The Boogeyman, which Shawn Levy produced. He also appears in Dreaming’ Wild, a Focus picture released in Venice this month, as well as the male lead in the independent film Call Jane, opposite Elizabeth Banks and Sigourney Weaver, which was premiered at Sundance in 2022. He also starred in the USA miniseries The Sinner alongside Matt Bomer and Bill Pullman, as well as the Starz miniseries Gaslit, which featured Julia Roberts and Sean Penn.
