A good film with a satisfying story and satisfying surprises Excellent performances by Vikander (she seems Japanese even though she didn’t study the language) and a fascinating look at Japanese culture make this film stand out. There are a few slow spots in the plot, but I was never bored. Certainly not aa “est- picture”nominee, but nonetheless enjoyable.

A Walk Among the Tombstones:
Year: 2014
Director: Scott Frank
Cast: Liam Neeson, Dan Stevens, David Harbour

All that’s needed to sum up this film is that Liam Neeson does Liam Neeson stuff. Matt Scudder, played by Liam Neeson, is a former NYPD cop turned unlicensed private investigator investigating the abduction and murder of the wife of a drug trafficker. In his search for answers, Scudder shows that he is willing to walk a fine line between breaking the law and following it. Unknown Origins:
Year: 2020
Director: David Galán Galindo
Cast: Javier Rey, Antonio Resines, Brays Efe, Verónica Echegui, Ernesto Alterio
Runtime: 1h 36m
IMDB: 6.1/10
To be a fan of comics is one thing; to be a serial killer who draws inspiration from them is another. In terms of creativity and detail, this unquestionably works well. The Spanish film Unknown Origins is based on a book of the same name by David Galán Galindo and follows a serial killer on the loose in Madrid who carries out his crimes in the guise of a well-known superhero.
Inspector David is in charge of the case, despite the fact that he despises comic books and thinks they are for immature grownups. When he needs to turn into a superhero to stop the killings, his criticisms come back to haunt him. But there’s more. David is forced to work with his cosplay-obsessed employer, Norma. A little cheesy but bright and enjoyable, Unknown Origins is a good time for anybody, comic book geek or not.
