Season 2 of the popular teen drama saw a huge increase in viewers, with 13 million for its premiere and an average audience of 6.6 million for season 1.
HBO has announced that the controversial teen drama, Euphoria, is officially renewed for a third season. The intense teen drama created by Sam Levinson and led by Emmy winner Zendaya saw its average audience increase from 6.6 million viewers in season 1 to 13 million viewers across platforms during its second instalment. With more than 4K tweets since Jan 9th of this year, it also boasts being HBO’s most social premium cable episode ever, according to them!
Francesca Orsi, HBO’s executive vice president of programming and production, said, “Sam, Zendaya, and the entire cast and crew of Euphoria have taken Season 2 to extraordinary heights, challenging narrative convention and form, while maintaining its heart. We couldn’t be more honoured to work with this gifted, wildly talented team or more excited to continue our journey with them into Season 3.”
The series stars Hunter Schafer, Dominic Fike, Eric Dane, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, Angus Cloud. It is based on the Israeli series of the same name and features Levinson as one of its executive producers. The cast also includes Maude Apatow (who takes over for Zendaya), Storm Reid and more!
The second season’s final episode airs on Sunday, Feb. 27, at 9 p.m. ET!
