Pretty little liars had an exceptionally massive fan following in its time of glory. Looking at the seemingly terrifying new teaser for Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin, there is absolutely no doubt that this shall be the case for the spinoff as well.
The spinoff has taken on a different cast for playing the six lead high school girl roles. However, upon speculation, the show’s screenwriter, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, known for his exciting use of twists and turns in the Riverdale series, verified that the original series would be heavily referenced in the new version. Not to add, when E’s daily pop confronted Shay Mitchell, one of the original show’s cast members, about making an appearance in the show, it was followed by her response in words, “Never say never.” This gave rise to more speculations about featuring the original cast in the new spinoff.
The show’s first look was revealed on June 15 in the form of a quite unsettling first teaser, possibly inspiring a chill down the spine for many viewers. If the teaser itself did not establish the spinoff as a somewhat creepier iteration of the original show, the playback music of the show’s original theme song had also taken a turn towards the dark, making the teaser and the spinoff appear all the more grim and twisted.

In the words of one of the lead cast members, Bailee Madison, “It’s a reimagination of what worked so well and what people loved, but we’re leaning into the horror and the mystery of it all.”
As for now, there is not much known about the upcoming show other than the fact that the story is set to play in a modern-day Millwood, Pennsylvania, and revolves around a group of girls who are victims, paying for crimes committed over 20 years ago by no one but their parents. The new cast includes a group of high-school students, namely Imogen, Minnie, Noa, Tabby, Faran, and Karen, played by Bailee Madison, Malia Pyles, Maia Reficco, Chandler Kinney, Zaria, and Mallory Bechtel, respectively.
That said, if you thought the original antagonist was terrible, it seems that the new “A” will be far worse. So, fasten your seatbelts since you can expect the same drama and a lot of other mystery with this new spinoff. The network is set to release the first three episodes of the series on July 28, 2022.
