As Stranger Things is coming to an end, there is a world of possibilities for the ending. Fans throughout the globe are hooked on the show to see the finale. Season 4 of the show took a different turn than all previous seasons as most of the major characters had matured. The exhibition explored the connection between the natural world and the upside-down bringing in a new antagonist altogether.
The ending of Volume 1 of season 4 sets up many potential storylines for the Hawkins and its residents as Vecna’s true identity is finally revealed. It seems from the trailer of Volume 2 that no one is safe from Vecna’s curse as he begins to spread his terror across the town. Not to add, Eleven’s recovering powers shown in Volume 1 are still vastly limited compared to the powers of the star general of the upside-down world, Vecna. Even if El’s powers are recovering at lightning speed, it still seems that she might not have enough time to save all her friends from Vecna, considering that he is now exclusively after two people from the gang.

Everyone should be ready for the ending of Season 4, explains Will Byers actor Noah Schapp in an interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Incredible things are about to unfold in the final two episodes, and fans are all for it. Noah quotes, “You can expect from Volume Two, we’ve got some deaths coming, some gore, and a big– I didn’t say who.” He also says, “Well, you guys can assume that somebody’s going to…Well, I’m done here because you’re scaring me.”
Rest assured, not unlike Will, we, too, are terrified and anxious about what the finale will bring forth.
With Vecna’s more robust than ever curse and the compromised powers of Eleven, it does seem that not all characters will survive the finale of season 4. The only question that remains is “who?”. The Duffer brothers have established a strong role for almost all characters. Therefore, no matter who it is that will not make it to the end, we can say that it will not be easy.
Given that Stranger Things has a history of murdering new characters, rumors predict that one of the new characters, Eddie or Enzo, won’t survive. There are indications that it may be Robin, though, as she is seen being restrained by Vecna in the Upside Down in the Volume 2 teaser. Not to add, she only joined the cast in season 3, making her a newbie amongst the rest of the gang and, keeping with the tradition, more susceptible to death.
It also could be that the writers ditch tradition and go in the opposite direction by killing an original cast member such as Nancy Wheeler or Max Mayfield. These characters have experienced direct facetime with Vecna, so it would not be unexpected for them to die. Not to add, the recently rekindled romance between Nancy and Steve could also be a writer’s tactic to build up hope and potential, only to swiftly kill it in the finale. Moreover, Max suggesting that she might grow bored of her favorite song in season 4 could be predicted as a spoiler for later events. No matter how things unfold, one thing is certain. The finale will be an emotional whirlwind. Stranger Things Volume 2 of Season 4 releases on Netflix on July 1, 2022.
