As Booth and Hartley fight with the Bishop to uncover a precious treasure, an international cat-and-mouse game develops. Red Notice is a fun film with a lot of action and a lot of funny situations, and there are already two sequels in the works.

The primary attraction here is seeing Scott Adkins get into many fighting. Bar fighting, jail street fights, actually any ol’ fighting will do. If that sounds appealing, check out Avengement, the newest collaboration between DTV action champion Adkins and Savage Dog and Accident Man director Jesse V. Johnson. Adkins and Johnson are playing on the Guy Ritchie/Matthew Vaughn type of British crime dramas, but with more roundhouse kicks. The film’s structure is initially confusing but ultimately satisfying, following Adkins’ Cain Burgess, fresh outside of prison, to a local bar where he continues to hold the men responsible for his horrific prison sentence to account for their wrongdoings, leaping from flashback to flashback.
In contrast, he holds them at the point of a gun. Few action artists can equal Adkins’ physical capabilities, and alongside experienced stunt coordinator Johnson, Adkins gets plenty of consistently filmed sequences, film clips, and set-pieces to showcase his abilities. If you like DTV action movies, this one is a must-see, with some very shocking scenes of violence.

Director Antoine Fuqua takes pleasure in the extremes, crafting a relentless action film that’s clearly among the most extreme of the Die Hard-inspired “stuck with terrorists” type.
