The news that Paul Levesque, popularly known by his ring name Triple H, would be resuming his executive job as EVP of Talent Relations was made public by WWE on Monday. Paul stated to WWE in his remark, “I look forward to returning to my prior position as head of Talent Relations. I’m healthy, fired up, and ready to take charge.”
Following the company’s statement on Friday that 76-year-old executive Vince McMahon will be stepping down as CEO and Chairman due to his most recent issue, the news was released on Saturday. Prior to John Laurinaitis’ return to the organization, Triple H secured the same job but resigned. He has also departed the WWE as a result of the revelation that Laurinaitis was a part of the McMahon “hush money” incident.
Levesque was NXT’s creative director up until last September; but, with the recent announcement, Triple H will take on his largest creative role to date. For those who are unaware, McMahon, the former head of WWE, was forced to resign early owing to persistent accusations of sexual harassment.
The Wall Street Journal reported in June that Mr. McMahon had consented to pay $3 million (£2.5 million) to a former paralegal who claimed he had harassed her sexually at work. He allegedly approved to a $1 million down payment, with the remaining sum to be paid over the course of five years by Mr. McMahon, supposedly. The WWE board called for an inquiry when it was revealed that he had paid more than $12 million to four other women to cover up many charges of infidelity, contrary to original reports that he would continue in his role as the company’s CEO and chairman.
According to BBC, McMahon claimed that he had the “deepest appreciation and admiration for our generations of fans all over the world” in his closing remarks, but he made no mention of the allegations.“
He further added, “Our global audience can take comfort in knowing WWE will continue to entertain you with the same fervour, dedication, and passion as always. My personal thanks to our community and business partners, shareholders, and Board of Directors for their guidance and support through the years. Then. Now. Forever. Together.
Triple H is content to be returning as the new hire. Following the announcement’s publication on the WWE website, Triple H retweeted the news and added, “Proud and proud to work with the best talent in the world.” Triple H also took to Instagram to add his two cents to the news.
