Do you think that if people still wish for something old that used to make them happy to come again and make you remember again all over it, or it just happens in the movies? No, it happened recently when Tom Holland, in a recent interview, wished that he would want the adaptation of the Play Station’s most loved franchises, Jak and Daxter, produced by A24. At first, people didn’t believe that they would be seeing a real film adaptation of the Naughty Dog Series. As the wish got fulfilled the other day. The film director of Uncharted named, Ruben Fleischer, confirmed that he is already working on this adaptation of Jak and Daxter, but it is still not confirmed if A24 is connected or not, but who knows this wish gets fulfilled, too, like the previous one winks
While Fleischer was promoting his new film yet to be released named Uncharted, he said that he would disclose much, but he is working on bringing the iconic duo to life, and then he further said that he is working on Jak and Daxter, but a version for PlayStation that he thinks is going to be cool. He was also scheduled to make an adaptation for Spy Hunter, the arcade game, but that project was never revealed.
So, coming with the favorite iconic duo Jak and Daxter is a series from Uncharted developer Naughty Dog, which was famous during the era of Playstation 2. However, despite its popularity in the 2000s, there has not been a single installment of this game series since 2009. As the adaptation of this series is not officially declared but Sony confirmed in the Corporate Strategy Meeting in May 2021 that they are going to develop around 10 adaptations of their games for film & TV. He also announced some other adaptations like Ghost of Tsushima film and The Last of Us, but a few are still not revealed.
It cannot be said if the version of the Jak & Daxter adaptation is going to be live-action or animated, as some of the fans might point toward Tom’s dream for the A24 version. If it is an animated one, it’ll join the PlayStation 2 era icons like Ratchet and Clank. Also, there was another PS2 hero who was about to see an animated adaptation named Sly Cooper but sadly, that project went into silence after its teaser trailer and was canceled. As of now, we have to wait and see for the fate of Jak & Daxter if he is going to make it to the finish line or not because there’s no official word on it now. :’)
